How we research

How Roamgrove researches and reviews its destination guides and itineraries, what we verify, what we do not claim, and how to report something that is wrong.

What we publish

Roamgrove is research-led. Our guides are compiled from official tourism and operator sources, transport authorities, published opening hours and pricing, and a wide read of what families consistently report about a place. Every guide is then reviewed against the same checklist before it goes live.

We do not claim to have visited every destination. A site that implies first-hand experience it does not have is trading on a story, and the recommendation is worth less for it. Where something is a judgement rather than a fact — whether a climb is realistic at six, whether a park day needs a recovery day after it — we frame it as a judgement.

Who reviews, and how often

Guides are reviewed by the Roamgrove editorial team. We are an editorial team, not a named individual, and we do not attach credentials to the team that it does not have. A reviewer is a person on that team, not an automated process: they read the guide against the official sources listed for it and correct anything that no longer matches.

Cadence:each destination we have reviewed is re-checked at least once every 12 months, and sooner when a source changes — a new opening-hours notice, a price change or a closure. A “Last checked” date appears only on destinations a person has actually reviewed; we never set it in bulk or automatically, and a guide without one has not yet had that review.

What we check

  • Constraints before attractions. Height limits, advance-booking requirements, dress codes, terrain, seasonal closures and access restrictions. These decide whether a day works; the description does not.
  • Realistic durations.Time on site as a family actually spends it, not the operator’s suggested visit length.
  • Age suitability.Stated as a range, with the reason. “Ages 6+” on its own tells a parent nothing.
  • Costs as bands, not quotes. Prices move, so we publish indicative figures with a stated basis and a stated season rather than pretending to precision we cannot hold.
  • What does not work. Every trip page says who it is not for. A catalog where everything suits everyone is not a catalog.

Where the limits are

Opening hours, prices and access rules change, sometimes at short notice and sometimes seasonally. Treat everything here as a planning baseline to be confirmed with the operator before you travel — particularly anything with timed entry, a height limit or a seasonal closure.

Cost estimates assume shoulder season and mid-range choices for a family of four. Peak months, school holidays and city-centre accommodation all push them higher, and the trip pages say which lines move most.

No AI-generated content

Nothing on this site is generated on the fly. There is no chatbot, no search assistant and no model producing itineraries in response to a visitor. Everything you read was written and reviewed before publication, which is also why the catalog grows at the pace it does.

Commercial links never affect ranking

Recommendations and commercial links are decided separately. No hotel, operator or tourist board can pay to appear in a guide, to be ranked higher in one, or to have a criticism removed. The disclosure page sets out how the affiliate side works in full.

Tell us when we are wrong

Corrections are genuinely welcome, and a guide that is out of date is worse than no guide. If something here is wrong, email support@yalintech.com with the page and what changed.
